A Gramercy Park woman choked her love interest … for trying to leave her apartment, police sources say.
Blaithin Crombie, 49 – who showed up in Manhattan Criminal Court today dressed in a pink-and-white polka-dot dress and blue sneakers with matching earrings – had a few drinks with 42-year-old lawyer James Merlino before inviting him back to her pad near East 27th Street and Lexington Avenue around 10 p.m. June 17, according to a court complaint.
But later, when Merlino got up to leave, Crombie put her hands around his neck — and squeezed until he had nearly passed out, the court document says.
Crombie was arrested over the weekend on a slew of charges, including obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment, assault and harassment.
Merlino declined comment.
