Police searching for suspects in string of boat burglaries

Boat burglars are on the loose, according to police, as several suspects are wanted in connection to a string of six burglaries on boats docked in Lower Manhattan marinas.

The first incident took place May 27, where the suspects entered a boat docked at Pier 25 and removed photographs on the wall of the ship.

The suspects struck again on June 9, stealing various electronic equipment from a boat docked at 323 South End Avenue, cops said.

They upped the ante on the third boat burglary, this time taking bank cards, a cell phone and an Apple iPad on June 16, also in Lower Manhattan according to authorities.

Their luck ran out after attempting to gain entry into the New York Kayak Company on 353 West Street by breaking the front locks, but they were unsuccessful and no property was removed, police said.

According to cops, the suspects struck out again on July 4 when they entered a boat docked at 2N North Cove, but were unable to remove any property for unknown reasons.
