A drugged up drunk driver who plowed into three bystanders and a flower stand in the East Village last month was so high he thought he was dead, according to court papers

“Am I dead?” he asked a cop the morning of June 19th. “”Was I driving?”

Shaun Martin, 32, of Queens, was high on PCP and meth and had hashish stashed in his sock when he cut across three lanes, careening into a deli at the corner of 2nd Avenue and East 4th Street, prosecutors said.

Martin pled not guilty at his arraignment in Manhattan Supreme Court today.

The one-man wrecking crew hit a fire hydrant, 300-pound muni meter, 25-foot Gingko Tree, a light pole, a Citi Bike and three bystanders. But Martin was more concerned about his mom than his victims.

“Don’t call my mother, she’s going to be upset,” he whined to an EMT after his arrest. Meanwhile the most seriously injured victim, a deli worker, suffered broken bones and brain trauma.

Martin, who emerged unscathed from the collision, has previous arrests for DWI and cocaine possession. He’s charged with vehicular assault, DWI and criminal possession.

“This defendant is charged with seriously injuring pedestrians and destroying thousands of dollars’ worth of property due to his extraordinarily reckless behavior,” said District Attorney Cy Vance.
