Queens and Brooklyn riders who had their subway lines hammered by Hurricane Sandy will still have a lifeline into Manhattan after the city yesterday extended ferry service through the end of January.
More than 120,000 passengers have taken the $2 weekday ferry from the Rockaways to Wall Street since it was launched in November. The move was spearheaded by City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.
