Dan Bucatinsky books ‘Show & Tell’

Dan Bucatinsky already has a charmed career.

With his producing partner Lisa Kudrow, he created the ancestry reality series “Who Do You Think You Are,” which has just been renewed for another season on TLC, as well as “Web Therapy,” which airs on Showtime.

He also has a regular role on “Scandal” and is a co-executive producer and writer on “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Now, the woman behind both of those ABC series, Shonda Rhimes, is developing a series based on Bucatinsky’s book, “Does This Baby Make Me Look Straight?: Confessions of a Gay Dad.”

The book chronicles Bucatinsky’s experience of having two children with his partner, screenwriter Don Roos (“The Opposite of Sex”), through a surrogate. The series will be called “Show & Tell” and will examine the lives, loves and secrets of a group of parents whose kids attend the same school.

Bucatinsky, 48, has been nominated for an Emmy as Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role on “Scandal” as James Novak, a journalist married to Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry), the chief of staff to President Grant (Tony Goldwyn).
