Steve Schirripa returns in full force

Steve Schirripa has a busy fall ahead of him. Next month, the ex-“Sopranos” star (Bobby Bacala) stars in “A Poet Long Ago,” a short film directed by Bob Giraldi (and written by Pete Hamill) that will premiere at the Hamptons International Film Festival. Steve also has a small role in Clint Eastwood’s “Jersey Boys” movie, which marks the second time he’s worked with Eastwood (the first time was in the Eastwood-directed 2010 movie “Hereafter,” starring Matt Damon).

Meanwhile, his Investigation Discovery show, “Karma’s a B*tch” — which Steve created and executive-produces — was picked up for an additional eight episodes that he’ll shoot this fall (they’ll air in the spring). Steve will also be among the special guests at the Police Athletic League’s 19th annual SportsNite fundraising dinner, which is being held Thursday, Sept. 19 (Chelsea Piers’ Lighthouse).

Also keeping a busy schedule these days is Matt Letscher, who not only was on the first two seasons of ABC’s “Scandal” (as loony Billy Chambers) but returns Sept. 29 to “The Carrie Diaries,” where he plays Tom Bradshaw, Carrie’s (AnnaSophia Robb) father on the CW series. He will also co-star in Atom Egoyan’s “Devil’s Knot” (about three murders in West Virginia) as defense attorney Paul Ford and has appeared in years past on shows including “The New Adventures of Old Christine” (starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and on ABC’s “Brothers and Sisters” and “Eli Stone.”
