Ahmad Bradshaw will need season-ending neck surgery

At least one decision made by Giants GM Jerry Reese in the offseason was a smart one.

Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw, released by the Giants last February, will have season-ending surgery, Pro Football Talk reported on Tuesday. The 27-year-old Bradshaw had a key role in the Colts’ big win at San Francisco in Week 3, running for 95 yards and a score, but he has missed the last two games with a neck ailment. The red-hot Colts, who have won three in a row since a Week 2 loss to the Dolphins, will rely on recently acquired running back Trent Richardson and Donald Brown as their feature backs.

Bradshaw spent the first six years of his career with the Giants, who drafted him in the seventh round in 2007. A part of two Super Bowl teams, he scored the game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLVI, but his time with the team was hampered by foot injuries.
