‘Breaking Bad’ creator cooking up new CBS series

It’s good to be Vince Gilligan these days.

The creator of “Breaking Bad” might be the Most Wanted Producer in Hollywood.

CBS has just announced that Gilligan will be an executive producer on the forthcoming series “Battle Creek” — the story of two detectives knocking about in a depressed Michigan city (a spiritual cousin to Detroit).

Gilligan’s script languished for over 10 years, but now that Hollywood has honored him with an Emmy for Best Drama series, the guy seems to be everywhere.

He will have some help on “Battle Creek” in the form of David Shore, former executive producer of Fox’s “House.”

CBS has agreed to a full-season order for “Battle Creek” for next fall, even though a pilot hasn’t been filmed. Gilligan is also developing “Better Call Saul,” a “Breaking Bad” spinoff with series co-star Bob Odenkirk, who played Walter and Jesse’s sleazy lawyer, Saul Goodman.
