Toymakers are on a roll.
Big-name companies unveiled dozens of hot new toys in Chelsea on Thursday, including an electric-powered scooter kids want to get their hands on — fast!
Time To Play Mag’s holiday toy showcase features tech-centric games and new twists on classics, such as the latest Tickle Me Elmo doll and Nerf’s biggest foam gun yet.
But the most important critics — the ones who still have early bedtimes — say the Razor Crazy Cart was the biggest hit of the day.
“It’s like you’re driving a real car,” said 13-year-old Cierra Cooper, of New Jersey. “It’s really cool. I would drive it every day!”
The $399 sit-down scooter zips up to 12 mph hour and features a “spin” setting and a seat belt. It’s for kids 9 and up.
Another hit at the showcase was the Skyrocket Sky Viper Quadcopter, which flies up to 14 miles per hour, for $69.99.
The Disney Infinity Video Game — which allows players to hook up action figures to an X-box-like system for $79.99 — also earned praise for being innovative.
“Connecting [the action figure] takes the player to that character’s world in the video game,” a company representative said.
The Big Hugs Elmo doll is 2 feet tall, sings and can give hugs for $59.99.
The new Nerf gun is three feet long, looks like a sniper weapon, and costs $49.99.
