BITTER PILL FOR FRAUD DENTIST

A crooked Brooklyn dentist is going to be feeling the pain of prison after he pleaded guilty to a brazen $600,000 insurance fraud he carried out while treating dozens of Port Authority cops.

Barry Cohan, 51, agreed to serve up to 7½ years behind bars for submitting claims to the PA and MetLife for services he didn’t perform.

In some cases, the dentist waived the 20 percent co-pay for the cops. Cohan also performed cosmetic surgeries that were not covered under the insurance plan and then billed for different procedures. Dozens of PA cops were questioned during the federal fraud investigation, but none was charged.

Cohan also pleaded guilty to stealing the identity of another dentist by using his name on fraudulent claims while he was on vacation.
