PREZ EXCUSES ‘HOOKY’ GIRL

An apple-cheeked 10-year-old played hooky yesterday — but got off the hook with a presidential pardon.

Kennedy Corpus, a fourth-grader from Green Bay, Wis., went to a town hall-style meeting yesterday to hear President Obama talk about health care.

Proud papa John Corpus told the president his girl was skipping school to attend the event — and said he hoped she didn’t get in trouble.

“Do you need me to write a note?” deadpanned the commander-in-chief.

The president then neatly scrawled on a piece of paper:

“To Kennedy’s Teacher — Please excuse Kennedy’s absence . . . She’s with me. Barack Obama.”

The president then hand-delivered the note to the astounded schoolgirl.

“I thought he was joking until he started walking down,” Kennedy said after the event as she showed off her note in front of a bank of cameras. “It was like the best thing ever.”

The fourth-grader at Aldo Leopold elementary already knew what she was going to do with the note — frame it along with her ticket to the meeting.

She said she’d make a copy for her teacher.

“She deserves it,” said dad John, who develops Fast Care clinics for Bellin Health, as he watched scores of cameras surround Kennedy.

Here’s hoping the note may be good for a second day as well: Kennedy and her dad were set to be on a local TV program — at 8 a.m. With Wire Services
