HAVING AN ‘AFFAIR’ WITH THE BOSS

Looks like workin’ man’s rocker Bruce Springsteen may have some lipstick on that blue collar.

A heartbroken husband claims in devastating divorce papers that his wife was carrying on an affair with the married “Hungry Heart” singer.

Arthur Kelly, 45, said his wife, Ann — a flame-haired registered nurse — was carrying on an affair with “one Bruce Springsteen, who resides in Rumson, New Jersey, and Colts Neck, New Jersey, at various times and places too numerous to mention.”

Springsteen, 59, and his wife and redheaded E Street Band mate, Patti Scialfa, live in Rumson and have a farm in Colts Neck.

Arthur Kelly is a mortgage broker whose office in Asbury Park is a stone’s throw from the famed Stone Pony club where Springsteen began his career.

He made the bombshell claim against his wife of 17 years in papers filed in Superior Court in Monmouth County on March 27.

The Kellys have two daughters, ages 10 and 12.

Springsteen’s camp did not outright deny the claim. Instead, they reiterated a statement that the Boss made in 2006 following a report in The Post that his wandering eye was causing marital difficulties between him and Scialfa.

“Patti and I have been together for 18 years — the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married,” he said at the time.

Springsteen and Scialfa were on tour yesterday and were unable to be reached for comment. They are set to play a show in Denver tonight.

Ann Kelly, 44, avoided reporters yesterday by driving her Volvo SUV directly into the garage of her West Long Branch, NJ, home. She then refused to answer the door and called police.

When reached by phone, Arthur Kelly — who has since moved into an apartment in nearby Red Bank — would only say, “I appreciate you calling, but I don’t have any comment.” His lawyer, Edward Fradkin, did not return messages seeking comment.

The divorce papers state that a temporary restraining order was filed in relation to the case but was dismissed the day before the divorce suit was filed.

Access to documents from a separate court proceeding involving the couple was denied because they were covered by the state’s Domestic Violence Act, a court official in West Long Branch said.

Star magazine reported that rumors of the alleged dalliance surfaced among the Kellys’ neighbors about a year ago, after she met the rocker at a gym.

In 2006, The Post reported that Springsteen had gotten close with a gal pal whom he met at the Atlantic Club gym in Red Bank.

Members yesterday said she had been seen working out there for a couple of years, and Springsteen is “a regular.”

Springsteen started seeing Scialfa — who plays various instruments and sings back-up vocals — in 1987 while he was married to his first wife, Julianna Phillips.

The Springsteen-Scialfa romance blossomed during his “Tunnel of Love Express” tour the following year. He and Scialfa had a son in 1990, a year after he and Phillips divorced.

Springsteen and Scialfa married in 1991 and have two other children.
