Make room in that cubicle — desk jockeys around the city will soon be allowed to take their bikes off the road and into their offices.
As long as an employer agrees, building owners will have to allow employees to bring bikes into their offices under a City Council bill passed by the Transportation Committee yesterday.
And if there’s no room in building elevators for a bike, or if there are safety concerns, the owner has to provide indoor bike parking at a nearby garage or other property, according to the legislation.
The full council is expected to approve the bill tomorrow.
