LeBron has to ‘take care of business’ before talking free agency

Despite the Cavaliers’ 11-game winning streak and NBA’s best record, LeBron James didn’t sound as if he’s close to knowing where he will be next season on Saturday night.

When asked if he’s further along on giving a commitment to Team USA for the World Championships this summer, James said he can’t do it until he knows what’s up with his new contract.

“I got a very busy schedule. You guys already know what my schedule is — what’s going to happen this summer,” James said. “I got to take care of business [first].”

That’s not a bad sign for those convinced he’ll be a Knick next season. James also made a significant reading-between-the-lines comment after his 47-point outing vs. the Knicks.

James noted the Knicks have nobody to score “in the paint” and thus “they are not very good” when their outside bombs aren’t dropping.

The lone Knick on the roster who’s a prototypical low-post player is center Eddy Curry, who’s rehabbing and hopes to be ready in early March. Curry is signed through next season and has the same agent as James — Leon Rose.

Curry told The Post he believes coach Mike D’Antoni won’t play him unless the club is in the doldrums when he gets healthy and they are looking ahead toward next season.

D’Antoni may want to listen to King James’ observation that the club could use some low-post diversity.

* Donnie Walsh and D’Antoni will attend Knicks legend Dick McGuire’s 9:30 a.m. funeral in Melville, L.I. Some players may go. Practice has been pushed back to 12:30 p.m. The funeral is being held at St. Elizabeth Parish on 175 Wolf Hill Road. Knicks are wearing “15” patch to commemorate the Hall of Fame, Rockaway Beach product who was scouting college games right up to his death.

* With D’Antoni saying Nate Robinson is “a shooting guard,” it exacerbates their need for point guard help at the Feb. 18 trade deadline and they have been linked to Bobcats point guard Acie Law, who has been given permission to talk to other clubs.
