Cushnie et Ochs

In response to the sudden and shocking death of fashion designer Alexander McQueen, Cushnie & Ochs thoughtfully (and rapidly) included a tribute inside of each guests’ shownotes. Though the mood was quiet, the clothes that came down the runway did more than enough to inspire.

The sexy, feminine duo behind Cushnie et Ochs showed today that you can do a lot with very little. Working with limited color palettes (black, brown, cream, taupe) didn’t take away an ounce of sexy – or cozy – from this collection. Though it was mostly comprised of tough-girl looks (leather in the way of jackets, body-hugging dresses and beaded leggings), there were more than enough hooded knits to keep cozy in come fall.

Delicate draping appeared in taupe long sleeve dresses, while subtle glam made a cameo on skin-tight leather leggings. The curved theme still runs strong with this brand: there were 3D pencil skirts and one-shoulder dresses with futuristic, sophisticated waves that we can’t wait to dive into.

But the true showstoppers were the black oversized-spiked gloves – those sparkly, badass lovelies are versatile enough to compliment your biker babe outfit or your LBD.
