3 dead in New Jersey house fire

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Three people died when a fast-moving fire severely damaged a single-family home in central New Jersey early Saturday.

Few details were released regarding the blaze in Toms River, which was reported around 6:40 a.m. Police Lt. Steven Gerding said the cause of the fire was not immediately known, and investigators and firefighters remained on the scene late Saturday morning.

The names of the victims were not immediately disclosed, pending notification of relatives.
