Winslet giving hubby final cut

Hollywood power couple Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes have gone the way of the Titanic.

A lawyer for the actress and director yesterday announced that the Oscar-winning duo were splitting after nearly seven years of marriage — and indicated that their separation had been in the works for a while.

“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year,” said the lawyer, Keith Schilling.

Schilling called the split “entirely amicable” and “by mutual agreement” — but sources said the 34-year-old actress had been “bored” with the 44-year-old “American Beauty” director, ShowBiz411.com reported.

The “Titanic” star was spotted frolicking in a bikini aboard a boat in Mexico yesterday. She was with a hunky man and her two children, the Web site PopSugar said.

Her husband was nowhere in sight.

The curvaceous stunner — who last year won an Oscar for her role in “The Reader” — also sailed alone to the award show this month.

The situation was a far cry from Winslet’s gooey Oscar acceptance speech last year, when she gushed about her love for her hubby, who had directed her in “Revolutionary Road.”

“I’m so lucky to have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children who let me do what I love and who love me just the way that I am,” she said at the time.

Winslet and Mendes met in 2001 — the year her marriage to director Jim Threapleton collapsed — and they wed in a secret ceremony in Anguilla two years later.

They have a 6-year-old son, Joe, and she has a daughter, Mia, 9, with Threapleton.

“Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children,” Schilling said.

Mendes — who wrapped his production of “The Tempest” at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Saturday — was spotted playing tennis in Midtown recently, but sources in the family’s Chelsea building said yesterday that no one had seen the pair in a while.

Winslet’s publicist, Heidi Slan, would not specify when or why the couple split.

Mendes’ publicist did not answer calls for comment.
