Iran has arrested 30 people it claims were spying for the United States.
Iran’s secret service said its agents uncovered activities of a CIA-run espionage network that sought to recruit Iranian spies through US diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Turkey, among others.
“The Intelligence Ministry’s active and pious forces . . . arrested 30 people who were spies for America,” Iran’s state-run TV announced yesterday.
Iran also said its secret service agents identified 42 US intelligence officers working outside its borders.
