Hospital mess

Yet another patient was robbed while recuperating at New York Methodist Hospital on Sixth Street.

In the latest incident, the 46-year-old victim told cops that he was in his room in the hospital on May 14, making “numerous trips” from his bed for procedures. By the next day at 7:30 pm, he notice that a thief had swiped his American Express card — and by the time he canceled it, $190 in purchases had been made.

It’s the 10th time that a patient has been victimized inside the medical center between Seventh and Eighth avenues since January, 2010.

Phone snatch

A thug swiped an iPhone as its owner chatted on it on Lincoln Place on May 16.

The woman told cops that she was near Sixth Avenue at around 2:45 pm when the thief sneaked up from behind, grabbed the fancy smartphone, and kept on running towards Seventh Avenue.

Freight night

A thief stole a man’s iPhone and wallet inside a Ninth Street building on May 18 after distracting him with a question about the freight elevator.

The victim told cops that he was inside the warehouse next to the Gowanus Canal at around 1:30 pm when a man asked about the service elevator. The victim gave directions and then went to the bathroom. But when he returned to his desk, his property, and the thief, were gone.

Gun mug

Two model-thin muggers — one with a gun — ripped off a cabbie for $100 on Garfield Place on May 18.

The 58-year-old victim told cops that he was waiting for a fare between Eighth Avenue and Prospect Park West at around 9 pm when two youngsters approached, and one pulled a gun and said, “Give me your money.”

The driver handed over the cash, and the thugs fled towards Prospect Park.

Cops are looking for a 5-foot-8, 130-pound 17-year-old and his 6-foot, 125-pound accomplice whose age is not known.

Road rage

At least two cars were hit last week:

• A thief swiped a 16-year-old Subaru Impreza from Second Street between May 15 and May 21, when the owner returned to the spot near Fifth Avenue to find the antediluvian auto gone.

• A thief stole a radio out of a car on Eighth Avenue overnight on May 15. The owner told cops that he parked near Union Street at 9:30 pm, and returned at 5:45 the next morning to find that a door had been pried open and his $1,100 stereo system removed.

Burg time

There were at least two break-ins last week:

• A thief stole more than $1,400 in tools from a St. Johns Place apartment between May 16 and May 18. The tenant said that the thieves entered via the fire escape on the building near Fifth Avenue.

• A thief stole cash and electronic goodies from a Warren Street unit while its tenant was working the overnight shift on May 15. The 22-year-old victim told cops that she left the building, between Third and Fourth avenues, to go to work at 3:30 pm. She returned at 1 am to find her iPod, cellphone and $100 gone.
