Cops shoot armed teen in Brooklyn

Police shot and wounded a teenager who pointed a gun at them on a Brooklyn street Thursday, authorities said.

According to witnesses, a 16-year-old boy was brandishing the gun in the courtyard of the Brownsville Houses near Mother Gaston Boulevard around 3:30 p.m. when he was shot twice by an officer — once in the chest and once in the abdomen.

“I was watching TV, and all of a sudden, I heard something go ‘pop pop pop pop pop,’” said Michelle Sancho, 44. “After about two minutes, we heard ‘pop pop pop pop’ again,” she said.

“It was like the whole police force was coming down the block,” Sancho said of the shooting.

The teen was taken to Brookdale Hospital in serious but stable condition. Cops recovered a handgun at the scene.

No police officers are were injured, authorities said. Charges against the teen are pending, police said.
