There’s no longer a fork in the road at a Carlsbad, Calif., intersection.

The street still splits in two, but a six-foot sculpture of the utensil installed there by a local artist was removed by the city.

A town official said, “We appreciate the creativity, but it’s not legal or safe.’’

But one fan of the quirky artwork placed a sign at the site that reads: “Why the fork not?’’

A computer programer in San Francisco is offering $8 an hour for an assistant whose only job would be to slap him in the face whenever he logs on to social-media sites at work.

Maneesh Sethi said he felt embarrassed when he calculated that he spent 19 hours a week of his boss’ time on the sites.

The amorous elk vanished for longer than usual but came back recently.
