GOPer keeps twirling Lew on grill

WASHINGTON — Sen. Charles Grassley said yesterday he is still not satisfied with treasury-secretary nominee Jack Lew’s disclosure on the $1.4 million loan he got as a well-paid exec at NYU.

As the Post first reported, Grassley (R-Iowa) pressed Lew to reveal the terms of the loan, but Lew responded with partial information, failing to say what the rate was or if the money was forgiven as part of his severance package.

“The information you have provided thus far does not answer the questions I asked,” Grassley said.

Grassley also asked whether the loan — pegged to the borrowing rate of NYU’s bonds — was below market rate for tax purposes. Lew said he paid “all taxes that were due.”
