Robin return boosts ‘GMA’

Robin Roberts’ return to “Good Morning America” gave the top-rated morning show a ratings jolt.

“GMA” averaged 6.1 million viewers on Wednesday, which marked Roberts’ first day back, five months after undergoing a bone-marrow transplant to battle MDS, a rare blood disease.

That was up 13 percent over the show’s previous Wednesday show — and, on Thursday, with Roberts once again co-hosting, “GMA” averaged 5.8 million viewers on ABC, up 12 percent over the preceding Thursday.

Roberts took yesterday off to prepare for her interview with First Lady Michelle Obama — airing Tuesday on “GMA” — and to head to LA to cover tomorrow night’s Oscars.
