Six players ruled out for winless Giants

It is not going to be difficult for coach Tom Coughlin to figure out his seven inactive players for Thursday night’s game against the Bears in Chicago. Six players did not make the trip and a seventh, rookie defensive end Damontre Moore, boarded the charter flight, but he is highly unlikely to play.

There were no surprises among those left behind. All missed the abbreviated week of practice. Cornerback Corey Webster (groin) will miss his fourth consecutive game and center David Baas (neck) will miss his third straight game. Also out: Cornerback Jayron Hosley (hamstring), tight end Adrien Robinson (foot), safety Cooper Taylor (shoulder) and running back David Wilson (neck).

Moore is finding it difficult to stay on the field, severely limiting the impact he can make on special teams or on defense. He pulled a hamstring against the Eagles and probably won’t play in Chicago. Moore missed much of the preseason with a shoulder injury. Three players – tight end Brandon Myers, defensive tackle Linval Joseph and receiver Louis Murphy — are listed as questionable. All have ankle issues. Cornerback Terrell Thomas (knee), linebacker Mark Herzlich (toe) and long-snapper Zak DeOssie (back) are probable.

The Bears also have a few injury concerns. Tight end Martellus Bennett (knee), linebacker Lance Briggs (foot, hip), cornerback Charles Tillman (knee) and defensive tackle Stephen Pace (toe) are questionable.
