Jets GM John Idzik spent two years with him in Seattle, and te Seahawks are No. 2 in rushing offense.

The former Cardinals head coach played for the Jets and was hired in Arizona by Rod Graves, now the Jets’ director of football administration.

  3. 3. Bill O'Brien, Penn State head coach

The former Patriots assistant is going to be a hot name for head coaching vacancies and the Jets surely will have him on their list.

  4. 4. Mike Zimmer, Bengals defensive coordinator

The prevailing thought is the Jets will turn to an offensive coach after having their last five head coaches come from the defensive side of the ball, but if they go for defense, Zimmer will be a name to watch.

  5. 5. Lovie Smith, former Bears head coach

If they are looking for someone with head-coaching experience, Smith could be the guy. Idzik knows Smith from his days as a Buccaneers assistant.Â
