Offense
Best rhythm from the passing game in months, but Eli Manning was sacked four times. Lone interception was the fault of Louis Murphy, not Eli. Andre Brown (18 carries, 66 yards) runs extremely hard and Brandon Jacobs (one TD) was a short-yardage force. Victor Cruz (8 rec., 110 yards) couldn’t be stopped and Rueben Randle continues to find the end zone. Not good enough on third down (4-of-14). Grade: B
Defense
Can’t do a better job than they did against Eddie Lacy (14 carries, 27 yeards) but there were no answers for Jordy Nelson, who was targeted nine times and caught eight passes for 117 yards. Trumaine McBride, Prince Amukamara and Terrell Thomas were beaten over the top. Three interceptions, the most eye-opening was the leaping grab and 24-yard TD return by Jason Pierre-Paul, who is coming on strong. Grade: B+
Special teams
Hey, what do you know, these guys got their act together. Excellent job by Ryan Mundy and Spencer Paysinger figuring out and stopping a direct snap out of punt formation. Rueben Randle had a career-high 32-yard punt return but Mundy failed to down a punt inside the 5-yard line. Nice rebound outing by Steve Weatherford, and Josh Brown hit FGs of 40 and 28 yards. Grade: B+
Coaching
You just knew Kevin Gilbride wanted to exploit the matchup advantage with the Green Bay secondary with a pass-first attack, and his quick-throw approach was smart. Perry Fewell has got the run defense humming. Pretty clean game shows Tom Coughlin is getting through to his players. Grade: B+
