Tech guru’s Internet disconnect

This doesn’t compute — Steve Wozniak says he isn’t wired at home!

The Apple co-founder, who teamed up with Steve Jobs to revolutionize home computers, remarkably claimed he doesn’t have broadband Internet service at his Los Gatos, Calif., pad.

“I don’t have broadband at my home,” Wozniak told stunned attendees at a business forum in Perth, Australia. “I, Steve Wozniak, don’t have broadband at my home.”

The computer whiz explained that broadband service to his Silicon Valley home comes through only one source, tied to a local cable TV monopoly.

“Broadband is a monopoly in my town — that means you can get it from a cable company, but I don’t have cable,” he said. “And so I can’t get broadband in my house.”

Local cable and phone companies Comcast, AT&T and Verizon all appear to provide broadband service to Wozniak’s Los Gatos ZIP code, representatives said yesterday.
