Colorado school shooting victim fighting for her life

The most seriously injured victim in Friday’s shooting at a Colorado high school — a 17-year-old girl shot point-blank in the head — is “not doing very well,” according to her father.

Claire Davis, described as a gentle, sweet girl who loves horses, is fighting for her life after surgery for severe head trauma, her father told local television reporters Saturday afternoon.

“She needs your continued prayers,” the Davis family said in a statement.

Meanwhile, investigators spent the day searching for insights into why Karl Halverson Pierson, 18 — apparently bent on revenge against his former debate coach — randomly fired at Davis before fatally shooting himself at Arapahoe HS.

Officials also revealed that Halverson had a gun, a machete and three incendiary devices in his backpack, and had strapped ammunition to his body.
