Tuck: Seahawks will laugh at you after they ‘embarrass’ you

The Giants have been humbled by missing the playoffs, but the last thing they want is to be embarrassed Sunday at home by the Seahawks — and then taunted.

“The last thing you want to be is embarrassed. And this is a team that, if you’re not ready to play, they’ll embarrass you … and then laugh at you about it,’’ said Justin Tuck, referring to the NFC-leading Seahawks’ play and penchant for talking trash as well.

With Seattle (11-2) shooting for home-field advantage, and the Super Bowl here at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2, the Seahawks could view this as a dry run.

“I don’t blame them if that’s the case,” Tuck said.

“Obviously, that’s our ultimate goal is to play in the Super Bowl, and it’d be nice to have played there before and just been in the stadium before,’’ Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said. “I’ve never played in MetLife Stadium, but it’s exciting to potentially play there one day, and so for us it’s a big opportunity.’’

After Tom Coughlin initially said Prince Amukamara would sit out because of an illness, the cornerback did practice. CB Corey Webster, who has missed the last five games, was limited with an ankle injury. CB Terrell Thomas got his scheduled rest day for his achy knee, joining DT Cullen Jenkins (leg), Cooper Taylor (hamstring) and DE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder) in missing practice.

Pierre-Paul missed the last two games with a shoulder injury, and it’s unclear if he’ll play again this year or be shut down.

“It’s as always, what are the medical people telling me, how good does he feel, where is his confidence level, how much strength is there, can he defend himself, can he do the things he has to do in order to play?’’ Coughlin said. “Once those questions get answered, maybe I can help you a little bit better.

“Right now it’s still … even though he’s very optimistic right now, he’d probably tell you something very optimistic. But again, I look at the [injury] sheet and he’s not going. Shows you my tremendous influence in the medical profession.”

The Giants placed RB Brandon Jacobs on injured reserve Tuesday, and Coughlin said it would have been done even if the Giants were in playoff contention.

“I believe he was for the most part incapacitated,” Coughlin said. “He needed to have this done and that’s why medically they made the decision to do it now.”
