The 5 rides we’d like to see at ‘The Hunger Games’ theme park

Are you ready for a theme park based on “The Hunger Games”? One thing’s for sure: The concession stand is probably going to stink.

Last week, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer let slip that the studio had been approached about opening Panem-based rides, but gave no further information. As details are being firmed up, here are five suggestions for attractions based on the books and movies.

Haymitch’s Pub

Come inside, take a seat, then knock back so much liquor that you pass out at the table and don’t wake up until you’ve grown three days’ worth of stubble. Great for when Dad needs a little alone time.

Bullet train

Like the Disneyland railroad, this train whisks passengers around the park’s various areas, from The Capitol (overpriced stores) to District 4 (nothing but fish-and-chips restaurants) to District 12 (Porta Potties).

The training simulator

Grab your bow or trident and kill as many digital enemies as you can. Murder them all and you win a bag of Donald Sutherland’s beard clippings.

Effie Trinket’s Wigmania

Treat your little princess to a fun makeover from which, after 11 hours, she’ll emerge wearing a corseted dress, high heels, a white-painted face and, of course, a 3-foot-tall pink wig adorned with a flower.

Box challenge

Climb atop an apple box — like Josh Hutcherson in his attempt to be as tall as Jennifer Lawrence — and try to hang on as the floor rocks and shifts beneath you.
