Boyland Jr. sent dad to collect bribe money: prosecutors

Disgraced Brooklyn Assemblyman William Boyland Jr. deployed his own father to pick up a bribe from an undercover agent, according to a Brooklyn federal court filing.

William Boyland Sr. picked up a $3,000 check from a man he believed to be a real estate developer who was trying to get his son to expedite a project, papers state.

Boyland Jr. is facing corruption raps at his upcoming trial after backing out of a plea deal earlier this year.

His father — a former assemblyman, himself — has been classified as an unindicted co-conspirator.

Prosecutors will argue that Boyland Jr. used his old man to pick up the check to distance himself from his dirty dealing.

“At trial the jury will hear a recording on which the defendant boasts that he uses a ‘bag man’ or a ‘middle guy’ so that he can stay clean,” prosecutors wrote in the filing. “This evidence is powerful proof that Boyland Sr. was a co-conspirator who knew he was collecting a criminal bribe and not a legitimate campaign contribution.”

The bulbous Boyland Jr. also dispatched his former chief of staff, Ry-Ann Hermon, to pick up shady money on his behalf. She has already pleaded guilty and is set to testify against her former boss.

Boyland Jr. is accused of offering his juice to undercover agents posing as real estate honchos.
