MTA bus driver busted for drunk hit-and-run

Just because he drives for a living doesn’t mean he’s a good driver.

An off-duty MTA bus driver broke just about every traffic law imaginable when he drunkenly got into an accident in Queens before leaving the scene, authorities said.

Veteran driver Edward Sanders was swerving down the street in his personal vehicle in Ozone Park after having a few too many drinks when he collided with another driver near the corner of 149th Avenue and 96th Street at around 10:30 Saturday night, cops said.

Both drivers were unhurt — but as they got out to survey the damage, the driver of the other car told Sanders that they should exchange insurance info.

The uninsured Sanders apparently had second thoughts — getting back in his car and allegedly speeding off, leaving the stunned driver at the scene.

Police later caught up with the 49-year-old Sanders at his Ozone Park home after they spotted his damaged car sitting in the driveway.

He was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving uninsured, cops said.
