Baldwin bobs and weaves on ringside challenge

He coulda’ been a contender.

But TV tough guy Alec Baldwin refused the challenge of a  charity boxing match from a Post reporter  he shoved on the street — because he’s just too darn busy fighting for noble causes.

The 6-foot-tall Bloviator shoved 5-foot-7 Post scribe Kevin Fasick into a parked car, grabbed his cell phone and called him a “fat middle-aged man” outside his EastVillage home on Friday.

Instead of fighting back, Fasick — a former professional boxer trained by legendary world heavyweight champ Smokin’ Joe Frazier — invited the “30 Rock” star to join him in the ring, with the loser donating $5,000 to a group of gay activists Baldwin outraged earlier this week.

Instead of accepting, Baldwin bobbed and weaved.

“We’ve heard Kevin is a hell of a boxer and Alec is a longtime supporter of GLAAD,” a friend close to Baldwin said on his behalf.

“But you can understand why he wants to continue working with organizations benefiting from the 11-million-plus dollars he has donated from Capital One ads — before collaborating with the Post.”

The star has donated thousands to a community center in New Jersey, along with libraries, film festivals, and charities, the friend noted.

Fasick, who is credited with three first-round knockouts in nine pro fights, pointed out the pudgy provocateur had plenty of time for a street brawl — before he knew he was picking on a trained pugilist.

“When he finds out I’m a professional boxer, all of a sudden he has no interest in fighting. He’s a coward,” Fasick said.

“When push comes to shove, no pun intended, he chickened out,” he said.

The newsman had approached Baldwin for a comment on his stalker Genevieve Sabourin’s conviction while shooting a cellphone video, which enraged the star.

“You don’t want to get hurt, do you?” Baldwin yelled.

Earlier in the week, Baldwin also lashed out at a photographer, calling the shutterbug a “c–k s—cking f-g,” which angered the gay organization Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
