‘Facebook flop’ fear trumps Twitter IPO fever

The “Facebook flop” factor isn’t dimming despite the much-hyped Twitter IPO roadshow.

The celebrity-rich microblogging service is expected to price its IPO Wednesday evening and begin trading Thursday.

Facebook’s stock hit the market in May 2012 and was plagued by allocation problems, trading glitches and a selloff.

The shares did not recover the IPO price until a year later.

According to a survey that experience seems to have made a deep impression.

Twenty-three of 29 broker-dealers and independent advisers said they are not recommending Twitter shares.
