JetBlue’s secret new FDNY plane leaks online

A sneak peak at Jet Blue’s top-secret new airplane — built to honor the FDNY — shows a bright red new aircraft boasting the words “Blue Bravest,” a new photo reveals.

The company announced it will honor brave firefighters by designing a special plane for the FDNY then launching a dramatic flight over the West Side of Manhattan tomorrow, noting they’d give away no clues as to what the aircraft will look like before the flight.

“To honor these great men and women and our support for the FDNY Foundation, we’re introducing a beautiful new custom paint job on one of our A320s,” the company’s Web Site states.

“[We] will show it off by flying it along the West side of Manhattan Wednesday morning. We’re calling it “Blue Bravest” but the one thing we’re not doing is telling you what it looks like ahead of time!” it notes.

But the city’s Office of Emergency Services may have blown the company’s surprise when it tweeted a photo of the bright red plane on Tuesday afternoon, noting it will soon grace the skies of the Big Apple .

“Airplane with FDNY Paint Scheme will fly over Hudson River from VZ Bridge to GW Bridge tomorrow btw 7-7:30 am,” the agency tweeted under the handle @notifyNYC.

It then quickly deleted the tweet afterwards, likely realizing it had stolen Jet Blue’s thunder.

Jet Blue’s company Web Site notes, “Like all New Yorkers, we have a special place in out hearts for the brave men and women of the New York City Fire Department. In fact, many of them are family; around 250 of our crewmembers are former FDNY!”
