Fundraiser launched by 5 living ex-presidents will benefit Irma victims

A fund-raising campaign to assist Hurricane Harvey victims in Texas and Louisiana launched by the five living US presidents will also go to help Irma recovery efforts in Florida.

“One hundred percent of funds donated to the Florida Disaster Fund will go toward disaster-related response and recovery because the fund has no overhead costs,” One America Appeal said in a press release on Sunday.

The five living presidents — Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter — started the campaign last week after Hurricane Harvey tore through Texas and Louisiana.

The campaign is also beginning another public service announcement to appear during NFL games on Sunday and Monday evening to help raise funds for the storm victims.

“Recently, our country has witnessed catastrophic devastation. Hurricanes and flooding have upended lives and livelihoods,” former President Obama says in the ad.
