A huge Brooklyn shopping mall was briefly evacuated after a gunman fired at least one shot Saturday evening, police said.

The shooter fled down the block, where he was arrested and his gun was recovered, according to the sources.

A shell casing was recovered inside the mall, NYPD spokesman J. Peter Donald tweeted.

Authorities needed to clear the mall for short time, police sources said.

“It was mass pandemonium,” a law-enforcement source told the Post.

Shoppers were freaked out.

A Macy’s employee, who asked to be identified only by her first name, Robyn, said she heard gunfire and saw people running.’

“We ducked down and then the NYPD came and told us to evacuate. I was crying and praying the whole way.”

Ashley Peregrina,14, said, “I was inside H&M and I heard a big boom. The workers took us to the back. We were there for ten minutes, then we all were evacuated to the street.

“I can’t believe this, it is usually safe,”

A shopper who asked that his name not be printed said he was at the mall with two nephews.

“I dropped my stuff” he said. “I just kept thinking, I have to get my nephews out of there.”
