The booze was strong — and the guy got spiked!
A ditzy drunk turned himself into a human shish kebab early Tuesday, impaling himself on a wrought-iron fence at a locked Manhattan park while attempting to take a shortcut home, officials said.
The 34-year-old East Side resident was dangling by the left leg from the 6-foot-plus structure at Peter Detmold Park when a team of rescuers arrived, police and fire sources said.

The registered nurse was headed home in a cab at about 2:50 a.m. after a night out when he got out and decided to take the shortcut near the FDR Drive and East 49th Street, according to police.
He first tried to open the gate and, when it wouldn’t budge, he scaled the fence and attempted to hoist himself over, officials said.
But the clumsy climber was too sloshed — and he slipped and fell onto a sharp, two-inch spike, which went through his leg, officials said.
Rescuers cut the iron spike from the fence, left it in his leg and rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors carefully removed it. He was released a few hours later.
It’s unlikely he’ll be charged with a crime — because accidentally skewering yourself is punishment enough, a police source said.
“The extent of his injury kind of outweighs whatever law he may have broken,” the source said.
The park honors Peter Detmold, a World War II vet and tenants-rights activist who was murdered on his way home from a meeting in Manhattan in January 1972.
A sign fastened on the fence reads, “This park closes at dusk.”
The man couldn’t be reached for comment at his home Tuesday.
