Cops arrest man suspected of pummeling 2 strangers in Manhattan

A man suspected of viciously beating two strangers on an Inwood street — leaving one near death — was arrested Monday, cops said.

Branlee Gonzalez, 18, of The Bronx turned himself into police for the brutal beating Thursday that left the 69-year-old victim in critical condition. The victim remains on life support at Saint Barnabas Hospital.

A 39-year-old man was also injured in the assault, which was caught on graphic tape.

The two victims were sitting on Sherman Avenue near Dyckman Street around 4.a.m when Gonzalez let fists fall before being pulled away by a female companion, authorities say.

Gonzalez has been charged with assault and may face murder charges if the man dies, officials said.
