David Paterson, the former governor of New York, is not the future mayor of New York City.
“I could beat [Bill] de Blasio,” Paterson told a friend who was urging him to run.
But Paterson is happy in the private sector, working with former Jets wide receiver Wayne Chrebet, handling investments at Stifel Financial Corp.
“He really likes his life as it is now. It’s not a bad byproduct to be making some money after a public salary for 25 years,” a spokesman said.
“He has no interest in jumping back into the meat grinder. Everybody says it’s in his blood, and he tells them he’s had a transfusion.”
