Roy Moore claims he never dated underage women

WASHINGTON — Embattled Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore said in a new interview that he never dated underage women and he doesn’t even know the women who accused him of sexual abuse.

“These allegations are completely false. I did not date underaged women. I did not molest anyone. And so these allegations are false,” Moore told “The Voice of Alabama Politics” in an interview that aired Sunday.

In an interview with a sympathetic host taped at the Alabama Republican Party, Moore said he doesn’t recall even meeting accusers Beverly Nelson, Gloria Thacker Deason, Debbie Wesson Gibson and Leigh Corfman. Corfman said Moore fondled her when she was 14 years old and he was in his 30s.

“I do not know them. I had no encounter with them. I never molested anyone,” Moore said.

Moore said he didn’t recognize the pictures of young women from their teenage years and called it “simply inconceivable” that someone would wait 40 years to come forward for something other than “political purposes.”

“I said I did not know any of the women who have charged me with sexual allegation of molestation. And I did not know any of the women,” Moore said. “When I saw these pictures on the advertisements of my opponent, I did not recognize any of those people. I did not know them.”

In a previous interview with Fox’s Sean Hannity, Moore said he dated “a lot of young ladies” but he doesn’t “remember ever dating any girl without the permission of her mother.”

In the friendly interview that aired Sunday, host Bill Britt asked questions like: What don’t voters know about you? And why do you think that your opponent has been viciously attacking?

Moore said he enjoys working outside, Democrat Doug Jones’ “values” don’t align with Alabama and America can’t be good until God is recognized.

The election is Tuesday.
