$150K supercar stolen during test drive

A taste of life in the fast lane was too much for this wannabe speed demon to resist.

Michael McGilvary was so impressed with the $150,000 Maserati he took on a test drive — that he decided to steal the hot ride, authorities said.

McGilvary handed over his ID to the Ferrari-Maserati dealership in Fort Lauderdale, saying he wanted to take the car for a spin, the Palm Beach Post reported.

With a salesman in tow, he drove to the Boca Raton Resort and Club, claiming he was going to show his girlfriend the car.

But when they got to the club, McGilvary convinced the salesman to see his father’s boat.

The pair walked out to the facility’s boat dock, and McGilvary said he had to go get his lady friend.

It took 30 minutes for the salesman to realize something was fishy, and by the time he went out to the resort’s valet area, the hot ride was gone.

A valet worker told the salesman he saw McGilvary speed off in the car.

McGilvary, who was known to the valet supervisor and caught on surveillance video at the dealership, was nabbed by detectives the next day at a Starbucks, two miles from where the car went missing.

He denied being the person in the video, but cops were able to link him to the dealership, since they had the ID he turned over.

McGilvary is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on $10,000 bail.

The arrest report didn’t mention whether the Maserati was recovered, the Post said.
