Haute dog! Fashion Week’s hottest Instagram star is a fluffy 3-pound canine.
@NorbertTheDog has taken time off from volunteering as a therapy dog at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles to travel to New York and attend runway shows.
“It’s our first Fashion Week,” says Norbert’s “mommy,” Julie Freyermuth, sitting front row at designer John Paul Ataker’s presentation at Skylight at Moynihan Station on Tuesday morning. “He looks like he’s falling asleep, though.”
The 7-year-old pup has had a whirlwind trip, walking Anthony Rubio’s doggy-fashion show on Friday, and even getting a tour of the Vogue offices Monday, where he gave high-fives (his signature trick) to delighted staffers.
“It was great because it’s such a high-stress time for them, and Norbert just made everyone smile,” says Freyermuth. “Unfortunately, Anna Wintour wasn’t there, but we did see her assistants!”
As for his own sense of style, Norbert is more low-key than luxury, though he did don a tie to meet the stylist Stacy London on Monday afternoon. “Actually, we get a lot of clothes for him at Build-a-Bear [Workshop].”
