The Giants took out their frustrations at blowing their ​first ​shot at the Super Bowl​ in five years by trashing the jumbo jet that carried them home — leaving it reeking of booze and forcing a major clean-up at Newark Airport, passengers who boarded the plane afterward told The Post on Monday.
Mark Kropf said he was waiting to board United Airlines Flight 934 out of Newark when “the pilot came out and asked for everyone’s patience, and shared where the plane came from and that the plane needed extra help repairing and cleaning the interior.”
“Another 30 minutes passed and the gate agent told us it was the Giants that destroyed the biz class cabin, and we saw service personnel walking countless seat cushions off the plane,” Kropf​, a tech company employee from Brooklyn,​ wrote in a message via Twitter.
“Upon entering the business class cabin, the cleaning scent only partially masked the alcohol smell. I had popcorn, chewing tobacco and other food crumbs on my seat.”
Online flight records show the Boeing 767-400 had arrived in Newark from Green Bay, Wis., where Big Blue got drubbed by the Packers, 38-13, in a wildcard playoff game Sunday.
It was the Giants’ first playoff game since winning Super Bowl XLVI in 2012.
Gordon Allott, president and CEO of the BroadPeak tech firm, emailed The Post from inside the plane while waiting for takeoff.
“We are about 2.5 hours delayed. We were told the Giants had this plane last night and trashed it. Which is the cause of the delay,” he wrote.
Allott later tweeted his outrage, fuming: “The @Giants are poor losers. #UA934.”
But Sian Welby, a British TV weather forecaster-turned-BBC Snapchat maven, posted a photo of herself on board the plane holding a safety pamphlet with the words “GO GIANTS!” written on it.
“Thanks @Giants for trashing this plane so badly it was delayed for 2hrs in a ‘clean up operation’ which meant I didn’t miss my connection!,” she tweeted, along with an emoji that’s crying from laughter.
Asked if the team had trashed the plane, a Giants spokesman said: “It’s not true. It’s false.”
According to the FlightAware We​​b site, the jet arrived at Newark at 2:17 a.m., following a 1-hour, 24-minute flight from Green Bay.
Flight 934 was scheduled to depart for London’s Heathrow Airport at 8:30 a.m., but didn’t take off until 11:47 a.m., 3 hours and 17 minutes late, according to FlightAware.
A United spokeswoman wouldn’t say if the Giants had been on the plane.
“We can’t confirm who are customers are, so we can’t confirm the Giants were on the flight,” spokeswoman Maddie King said.
But King blamed the delay of Flight 934 on problems unrelated to the team.
“There was a mechanical issue with the plane scheduled to operate Flight 934 from Newark to London which resulted in an aircraft swap so the flight was delayed while our team in Newark worked to find an alternative aircraft that could operate the flight,” she said.
