Handcuffed teen goes on long joyride with stolen cop car

A handcuffed 18-year-old stole a cop car in Upper Manhattan early New Year’s Day and took it on a nearly 12 mile joyride before being recaptured, police sources said.

Dekota Locklear was first arrested about 2:10 a.m. following a DWI checkpoint on the Henry Hudson Parkway near West 158th Street, the sources said.

Cops cuffed his hands behind his back and placed him into a patrol car.

But the teen managed to slip into the front seat of the police cruiser and rearrange his cuffed hands in front of him, police sources said.

He sped away northbound en route to Yonkers, where he later ditched the vehicle Saw Mill River Road.

Police were able to track down the abandoned vehicle at 1185 Saw Mill River Road in Yonkers using their own tracking system. They then performed an extensive search with cops from the Yonkers Police Department.

By about 4 a.m., cops located Locklear near where they found their cruiser. He was placed back into custody.
