Steve Smith threatens to injure Josh Brown over revelations

Of the Giants willing to discuss Josh Brown’s admitted history of domestic violence, every player said they still supported their kicker.

But Steve Smith Sr. isn’t Brown’s teammate. And if the Baltimore Ravens wide receiver – whose mother is a survivor of domestic abuse – crossed paths with the Giants kicker, Smith wouldn’t treat such a serious issue so softly.

“You know what if your ex-wife was my daughter yo ASS would be on IR,” Smith tweeted Thursday. “What a shame NFL acts like it cares.”

Smith, who created the Steve Smith Family Foundation to help victims of domestic violence, had previously voiced his anger towards former Cowboys defender Greg Hardy, who was suspended four games last season due to alleged domestic abuse.

Brown was suspended for the Giants’ first game this season, but did not receive the six-game penalty for domestic violence – implemented after the 2014 Ray Rice incident – due to insufficient evidence.

San Francisco’s Torrey Smith also called out the league for its handling of the matter:

“Folks don’t care if your act of domestic violence wasn’t caught on tape,” the 49ers receiver tweeted. “they fake rage about everything else though.”
