This hedgehog gets daily massages to fight baldness

The George Costanza of hedgehogs is getting the royal treatment by animal rescuers hoping to grow back his hair.

Bald and stressed-out Nelson gets daily massages with almond oil intended to grow back his spines, which he lost because of a condition called alopecia — likely triggered by a traumatic experience out in the wild.

“Nelson is something else. He doesn’t have a single prickle or hair on his entire body, though he does have nails, so he’s a mystery,” Tonia Garner, manager of Foxy Lodge Wildlife Rescue in Norfolk, England told Metro.

Volunteers have spent a year trying to help the little guy, to no avail.

“His health is very good, other than the fact he is bald,” Garner said.

Nelson will have to stay in captivity, as spines are essential to protecting hedgehogs in the wild.

Nelson has one thing going over the famously neurotic “Seinfeld” character: he doesn’t live with his parents in Queens.
