Worldwide spike in shark attacks are due to human activity

Shark attacks are escalating around the world and humans are squarely to blame, according to Australian scientists.

Last year, there were a record 98 unprovoked shark attacks, six of which proved to be fatal, according to The Sunday Times of London.

The study by Bond University in Queensland suggests that “dredging and pollutants washing off the land, all in a key breeding area, have disrupted the sharks’ ecology and feeding patterns.”
