World Series Game 2 pushed up to beat the rain

CLEVELAND — Eastern Time zone baseball fans may not have to stay up quite as late as usual to watch World Series Game 2 on Wednesday night. They can thank Mother Nature.

Major League Baseball announced Tuesday the first-pitch time for Game 2 at Progressive Field, would be moved up by an hour, to 7:08 p.m. local time, in an attempt to neutralize the forecast of rain.

According to Weather.com, rain is supposed to hit the Cleveland area during the 8 o’clock hour Wednesday evening and intensify as the night progresses.
