Is Eli Manning hollering ‘Trump’ as a Giants audible?

Eli Manning’s version of The Wall may be big, blue and stand at the line of scrimmage, but it sure sounded like the Giants play caller was invoking another wall master against the Rams on Sunday.

CBS mics appeared to catch a moment during the game in London when Manning yelled out “Omaha” — a favorite audible signal of his big brother, Peyton — and then, “Hey, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump” in directing his teammates at the line of scrimmage.

The play in question was early in the second quarter as Big Blue lined up for first down at the 50-yard line. Eli called for a run up the middle, which gained just 1 yard.

Twitter lit up with postings poking fun of the apparent “Trump” play, comparing Giants and Rams’ respective offensive and defensive lines to walls — perhaps like the barrier Trump promises to build along the US-Mexico border if elected.

“Eli shouts `Trump!’ as an audible in Giants match against Rams… and it seems to be a call for a protective WALL,” tweeted Trump supporter Pat Peters.

In solidly blue New York, some Giants fans hoped this wasn’t a nod to the GOP nominee.

“Please don’t tell me Eli is a Trump supporter,” wrote a Twitter user named Olivia. “I don’t want to have to stop wearing his jersey.”

After the game, Manning denied invoking the GOP nominee’s name while barking out the play during Big Blue’s 17-10 victory over the Rams.

“No, no Trump call. No Trump call,” he told reporters. “We had something very similar, but no — no. It was not a Trump. So no, not an audible this week.”
